Full Stack Developer

Are you a self-starter interested in propelling a rapidly growing car wash brand into a market leader through system development? Caliber Car Wash is seeking a team member to work with front-end development to improve Caliber’s website as well as work with backend systems, including API integration.

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our growing Information Technology team. As the development lead, you will work closely with the marketing team and staff to create a seamless system/experience for customers, including utilizing evolving best practices. The ideal candidate for this role values accuracy, is reserved, imaginative, and seeks a high level of technical expertise. They like having the freedom to take charge of their own assignments, but works well in a team and is responsive to productive feedback. A disciplined, conscientious, hands-on approach is central to this job.

About Caliber

Caliber Car Wash opened its first wash in 2019 and quickly expanded to 14 locations throughout the Southeast by the summer of 2021. The company has plans to expand throughout the Northeast in 2022 and has already announced multiple new washes in Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and other areas. Current systems include WordPress, REST API integrations (Salesforce, Zendesk, Sonny’s Controls).

Experience

Candidates will ideally have at least two (2) years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, including both frontend and backend languages and frameworks. Candidates should also have a Bachelor’s Degree in software development, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technology field.

We are looking for someone who wants to find a long-term career and grow with the company. You will play an instrumental role in building and supporting data-driven systems, including as a front-end web developer. Strong attention to detail and seeing things through to completion are a must.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Creates enhancements and modifications to websites; organizes and maintains the sites
  • Optimizes sites for maximum speed and scalability
  • Design and implement UX workflows
  • Creates microsites
  • Customize and launch WordPress themes
  • Customize or connect systems via REST/Open APIs
  • Develops data connections with Sonny’s Controls (previous Sonny’s experience not required but preferred)
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to evaluate new and evolving technologies
  • Experience with SFTP, SSH, and LAMP stack
  • Experience with REST APIs and Integrations (Salesforce experience preferred)
  • Understanding of modern web design principles and UX best practices
  • Proficient understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Python
  • Proficient in WordPress development, theme customizations and plugins
  • Familiarity with deploying Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as ReactJS, jQuery
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Photoshop a plus.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Good understanding of technical SEO principles such as robots.txt and sitemaps
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; promotes respect, communication and teamwork within the organization
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Deadline and detail-oriented

Physical Requirements:

  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication
  • Knowledge and ability to use manual tools for networking cabling-related services
  • The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.
