We are looking for Network Technicians to join our growing Information Technology team that has the desire to learn and grow while helping other employees in tech-related issues. This position will report directly to our Director of IT. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, has a sense of organization, emotional intelligence, understanding of their role, asking for and learning from feedback, confident, does well under pressure, has ability to multitask, and anticipative. The focus of this job is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures. Precise, consistent work output is essential requiring patience and a willingness to handle and complete one task at a time.

Experience:

We are looking for someone who has experience with computers networking setup, maintenance, and support and is a passionate tech-savvy, loves organization and to help others. This person is professional even in casual office environments, achieves goals consistently and efficiently and has specific knowledge as a Network Support Specialist.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define organization standards and default procedures for all site locations in order to optimize technical support and maintenance
  • Organize our site existing and upcoming site locations with internal predefined standards
  • Provide networking monitoring, support and maintenance in both remote and in-loco ways
  • Help our managers and other employees with support over remote desktop connection, telephone or in person
  • Manage requests and respect SLAs using internal IT ticketing system
  • Define optimal internet plan speeds for the site locations and monitor bandwidth use
  • Make sure that the critical web systems (POS, security cameras, etc.) are up and running and ensure that they can work properly, even during peak times
  • Define contingency strategies and plans to avoid critical internet-dependent services interruption
  • Implement cable management, eliminating any hazards, minimizing crosstalk and interference between equipment on site
  • Monitor and support cloud-based security cameras on our site locations
  • Availability to eventually travel to our site locations (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee)

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support via remote computer access, email, telephone and in person (if needed)
  • Designing and installing computer networks, connections and cabling
  • Troubleshooting failures and identifying roadblocks in the network
  • Maintaining and supporting connectivity and networking issues in modems, routers, network interfaces, laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones
  • Evaluating network performance and provide improvements
  • Scheduling upgrades and maintenance without interrupting business workflow

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Technical or Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Good networking knowledge and background
  • Networking setup and maintenance experience
  • Firewall, QoS, Routing, Cable Management, Logical and Physical Networking knowledge
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot problems and find solutions
  • Customer service experience in a helpdesk environment
  • Proficient in the use of online and remote-connecting software
  • Excellent time and task management skills
  • Critical thinking and investigative skills to solve problems
  • Ability to communicate with people with various levels of technical knowledge
  • Team player willing to learn new tasks
  • Applicant must be a Self-Starter
  • Must be capable of handling sensitive and confidential information

Physical Requirements:

  • The position requires occasional travel to any of our site locations
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication
  • Knowledge and ability to use manual tools for networking cabling-related services
  • The position requires occasional bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items or materials of moderate weight up to 30 pounds.
  • The ability to speak clearly, to hear and understand at a normal conversational level, and to receive detailed information through verbal communication.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: developing material; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.
