Meet Palatka Manager Lilly

Caturday has nothing on THIS feline-loving local.

Palatka manager Lilly joined Caliber Car Wash in August of 2020 and quickly worked her way up to site manager at the beginning of 2021.

Originally from Tennessee, Lilly considers herself a Putnam County native as she moved to Palatka when she was young. While attending Peniel High School, Lilly was part of the softball team and has experience playing every position- except pitching!

In her spare time, you can catch Lilly at the beach with her friends, taking pictures or hanging out with her four cats- Lucky, Kai, Waldo, and Binx. All of Lilly’s cats are rescues, and she has a passion for saving animals.

Pet-Cleaning Tip: Those fur babies know how to shed some fur! Try using a brush to remove it. Simply  brush against carpet grain to loosen fur before vacuuming it up. If that doesn’t work, brush all the fur to one side, then let the vacuum take care of the rest!

When it comes to Caliber, Lilly says her favorite part is working with and meeting customers. She loves being able to create community relationships and does her best to make sure you leave with a smile on your face.

The employees at Caliber are a close-knit family, according to Lilly who also loves being able to work with people she enjoys. She hopes you’ll feel that comradery while you’re getting your vehicle cleaned as she strives to provide that Caliber clean with a smile!

Caliber Car Wash Launches “Triple C” Coating for Better Paint Protection and Shine

Industry-leading technology added at no additional cost to customers

Caliber Car Wash today announced the launch of its new product, Caliber Ceramic Coating (Triple C), a technology that extends a car’s paint job by making it more resistant to harmful elements.

Ceramic coating is a newer express car wash innovation that, on average, costs an additional $10-30 per wash due to its ability to fill microscopic holes in a vehicle’s paint job to create a protective clear coat layer. Caliber is proud to offer the upgrade at no additional cost to its top “Caliber” package.

“We’re excited to expand our product offering with the addition of Caliber Ceramic Coating,” said Caliber spokesperson Mac McCall who noted that the upgrade is especially meaningful for long-term car care. “When your car gets small scratches or gets stuck under a bird at an inopportune moment, your vehicle will have a new layer of protection before these contaminants have the opportunity to reach your paint. You’ll start to see a clear difference after just a few applications as your car will shine like it just left the dealer’s lot.”

Ceramic technology has recently received national attention for its use in phones and pans. By utilizing the non-metallic material, car washes are able to coat cars with small molecules that create tight covalent bonds forming a hydrophobic shield to make it resistant to natural elements like acid rain, UV rays and bird droppings. It does so by making contaminants bead up and slide off the vehicle’s slick coating.

Caliber’s three-step ceramic process begins at the front of the wash tunnel with a specialty cleaner to ensure no contaminants are sealed in during the wash and to flatten soap bubbles for a better clean and wax adhesion. Cars are then treated to underbody washes, triple foam and other cleaners before receiving step two, which includes a leveling agent to fill in any small paint imperfections. This is where the ceramic coating is applied for protection and extra shine. The last step of the Triple C process includes a drying agent to give the coating its hydrophobic properties, meaning that elements like water will more easily bead up and slip off the coating to help prevent damage.

“Caliber believes in giving customers their best vehicle shine,” McCall said. “That’s one reason why we continue to look at ways to improve our washes – and doing so at no additional cost whenever possible.”

Due to its additional protective attributes, Caliber Ceramic Coating will last longer than just using traditional waxes; however, motorists should still have coatings regularly applied to enhance shine and fill any holes that develop in the coating. That’s one reason why Caliber recommends Limitless wash plans that allow customers to maintain their coating all month long for one low price.

McCall also mentioned that, for a limited time, new customers can take $10 off their first month of Limitless Caliber washes in order to refresh their vehicle’s cleanliness and coating more regularly.

Vehicles at all of Caliber’s locations will have access to Triple C starting December 1, 2020. And, the first 200 new and existing Limitless members to try the new product the following weekend (December 5-6, 2020) will receive a specialty air freshener to celebrate the technology’s launch.

Meet the Team: Marquise

One of our favorite parts about operating a car wash is the opportunity to work with people, and it is no surprise to hear that team member Marquise feels the same.

Marquise is known for his customer service at our Mableton, Georgia location, and he goes above and beyond to help customers and community members. In fact, when asked why he loves living in the Atlanta metro area, his answer was “the people!”

This Sugar Factory-loving team member stopped by the blog today to share his favorite detailing tip because he knows that spills happen. That’s why he suggests that you “should always keep a detailing cloth in your car for cleaning or spills.”

And if you’re ever in a bind after a spill, feel free to stop by our Mableton location because we provide towels, cleaners, and vacuums free with every wash. Just ask for Marquise, and he can walk you through all our detailing freebies or help you set up a Limitless wash plan, so you never need to worry about messes and spills again!

Meet the Team: Justin

One of Caliber’s first employees and managers, Justin, recently moved from Ocala to manage our new Fort Walton Beach wash.

This Altha, Florida native, is excited to return to the panhandle as he’ll be closer to family and wanted to provide his son Bass a chance to grow up near the beach. He and his wife also look forward to having their son experience the Gulf Breeze Zoo and the Gularium.

“I am happy to be a part of this new community and to be surrounded by all the amazing men and women of the armed forces that call this area home right now,” Justin said. “I grew up going to air shows at Tyndall, and can’t wait to take my son to his first air show locally!”

Justin thrives on customer service and clean cars. Known for going the extra mile, Justin also loves to share tips on how to get that clean car feel. One of his favorites is to grab a free air freshener (located at each vacuum stall) and fold it in half, so it sits in the middle of the air vent. That way, you’ll get a “constant breeze of that new car smell!”

When he’s not working at the wash, Justin also likes to play golf a couple of times a month when possible. Classifying himself as “not good or terrible,” Justin loves golf because it is his “fortress of solitude” to clear his head.

Golf time may be put on hold for a bit though, because Caliber is open rain and shine, and Justin is doing all he can to welcome new customers.

Justin and the rest of the new Fort Walton Beach team looks forward to offering $10 off your first month of Limitless washes and providing military discounts to local service members.

Meet The Team: Eduardo

If you love attractions like Six Flags and World of Coke, you’re not alone. Caliber team member Eduardo loves Atlanta because there are always things to do, including visiting local sites like the Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park.

Eduardo is an expert guide at our Mableton tunnel, and his favorite car wash tip is to remember to remove leaves and debris from your windshield and trunk area to ensure your car leaves with a showroom shine.

And for those with truck beds, this is especially important as items not bolted down can fly out and potentially damage your vehicle or those behind or in front of you. Or, in the case of softer debris like leaves, cover the next car as it flies out.

So stop by today to meet Eduardo and learn how to maintain that new car shine!

Meet the Team: Jessica

If you’ve ever pulled through our Ocala wash, you’ve likely been greeted by Jessica’s infectious smile!

This local loves Ocala because she’s able to stay close to her family and friends. A fan of Grace Japanese Steakhouse, it also doesn’t hurt to have delicious sushi and friendly workers nearby.

Jessica deserves a lot of sushi breaks as she spends her nights training at her dance studio and competing on stage. And don’t be fooled, her moves are even better than her car cleaning tips! If you can’t catch her on stage, you may run into her at Caliber’s vacuums because she loves using them to clean all of the crumbs and dirt off her mats and seats.

Feel free to give her a wave next time you stop by as she’d love to help you get set up on a Limitless plan or answer any questions!

Now Hiring Across the Southeast

Caliber Car Wash aims to serve customers, cars, and communities well – and we know that starts with people. That’s one reason why we believe in hiring individuals for careers, not just jobs.

While other companies may prioritize prior car wash experience, we emphasize customer care and a positive attitude. We seek individuals who want to develop and coach others because growing together means prospering together.

Caliber Car Wash has had the honor of opening seven new washes since 2019, and we take pride in being able to hire and retain nearly 100 employees during these challenging COVID-19 times. We’re also proud to announce that over half of our management team members came from internal promotions, and we commit to keeping this trend up via our comprehensive management training system.

As a growing company that believes in promoting employees, we also understand the need to expand as we move into new markets across several states. Because of this, we continue to actively seek internal and external candidates with exceptional coaching and communication skills to help their team, and our company grow.

If you love working with people and are interested in developing a leadership-based career track, we encourage you to apply today at www.calibercarwash.com/careers. You can also view a list of new and future locations here.

Meet the Team: Jay

Outdoor-loving Jay is one of the first employees Caliber hired in Ocala, and we’re excited to announce that he’s headed up to our new Palatka location!

Jay loves playing basketball and is looking forward to trying all the new food and experiences Palatka has to offer – although he’ll miss being so close to a Chick-fil-A. After all, “who doesn’t love Chick-fil-A?”

One of Jay’s many talents is detailing cars, and he recommends rubbing your windshield wipers with rubbing alcohol after you’ve cleaned them. This will help prevent your wipers from leaving smears!

To meet Jay, stop by our new Palatka location (opening soon). You can also sign up right now to get a free car wash during our grand opening. Just share your contact information, and we’ll send a coupon your way!

Meet the Team: Alivia

Alivia loves living in Inverness because of its friendly atmosphere – an attitude she spreads at Caliber Car Wash!

A shopping fan, Alivia loves exploring the aisles of TJ Maxx and fashion in general. We’re not surprised as she sure has style!

One of her favorite car wash tips is to remove the hitch on your truck before entering the wash tunnel to ensure a completely clean tailgate. This will allow our brushes to get all the way around your vehicle.

For more car wash tips, stop by our Inverness location and meet Alivia.

Meet the Team: Na’Shanti

If you love parades, you’re not alone! Ocala employee Na’Shanti loves celebrating the holidays almost as most as she loves clean cars – and that includes Ocala’s Christmas parade!

When she’s not helping customers get that new car shine, Na’Shanti enjoys playing video games and grabbing dinner at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse.

And if you’re wondering how many air fresheners to grab at Caliber’s detailing booms, Na’Shanti recommends only using one air freshener at a time because they are strong.

Stop by our Ocala location today to meet Na’Shanti and for more wash tips.
